Key point to this article… a warm blanket thrown over a patient is no replacement for good old fashioned caring and service!
If you have, or have ever had a dog, you know at some point they will get sick and you’ll take them to the vet only to get a bottle of pills to give to the dog.
Most likely, this process goes like this, if you put the pill in front of the dog, Fido will turn up his nose and walk away. Then you try to you stick it in his mouth, the pill gets spit out… and Fido tends to not come near you for awhile.
BUT, if you take a handful of Alpo, or better yet, raw ground beef and wrap the pill up in it. Fido will chow down that sucker, meat, pill and all like a cupcake at Christmas. Plus, he’ll love you for it, and actually beg for more.
In other words, in order to give Fido what he needs, the pill, you need to wrap it up in something he wants, the meat.
Same goes for your patients. In order to give them the information about their dental health they need, you need to include something they want.
